Houston, Texas

Sep 19, 2026

On September 19, 2026, thousands of people packed Smart Financial Centre to unite for revival at AWAKE Houston—and Dr. Youssef’s message was clear: “Stop hiding in the pews. Jesus sent you out, and He will be with you as you boldly proclaim His name.”

AWAKE Houston Rally

Thousands Stirred to Gospel Boldness

On September 19, 2026, thousands of people packed Smart Financial Centre for AWAKE Houston with Dr. Michael A. Youssef, Chris Tomlin, Ahmed Joktan, and O. S. Hawkins—and what happened inside that room is still rippling outward.

At Leading The Way’s largest AWAKE America rally yet, Dr. Youssef delivered a clear and uncompromising call to the Church: “It’s time to stop hiding in the pews. Jesus sent you out as sheep among wolves—and He will be with you as you boldly proclaim His name.” Following his urgent call to wake up spiritually and live boldly for Christ, hundreds came forward for prayer.

But that message did not stop at the doors of Smart Financial Centre. Thousands more watched from around the world as Leading The Way livestreamed AWAKE Houston across digital platforms and broadcast it LIVE on THE KINGDOM SAT TV channel. The Christian Post also livestreamed the event to their global audience and reported on the impact of the city-wide rally.

There was no mistaking the heartbeat of the night: AWAKE Houston was all about Jesus.

From the first song, the room resounded with Christ-centered worship as Chris Tomlin led thousands in lifting high the name of Jesus. Then Ahmed Joktan proclaimed three words that ignited a celebration: “Jesus. Is. Lord!” As the bold evangelist shared his powerful testimony of leaving Islam for Christ, he issued a charge that seared hearts across the room: “Because Christians believed God hears and answers prayer, I am here today. . . . You need not to be ashamed of the name of Jesus, and you need to share your own testimony.”

Those words carried particular weight in Houston, home to one of the largest Muslim communities in America. His testimony was a vivid reminder that the Gospel is not merely a message to be heard—it is the power of God to transform lives.

AWAKE Houston: Watch the Restream

The Impact: Believers Revived. Souls Awakened. A City Transformed.

The message was dynamite and I feel refreshed and renewed—and on fire!

Four young people and one teacher came to me for prayer. They all wanted one thing: to be more bold for Christ.

One Message: Do Not Be Ashamed of Jesus

God truly opened doors for ministry—not only for Dr. Youssef, but for our staff behind the scenes.

Your Prayers Answered

Days before AWAKE Houston, Dr. Youssef asked ministry partners to pray Acts 4:29: “Give us, your servants, great boldness in preaching your word.” On the ground, God faithfully provided numerous opportunities for staff to share the Gospel—conversations with hotel workers, Uber drivers, restaurant staff. The Gospel was going out before the event had even begun.

Sent Out

At AWAKE Houston, more than 4,000 discipleship resources were placed in the hands of attendees, including a special edition of MY Journal, a 30-day prayer journey card, and booklets for new believers. An estimated 400 prayers were written on our AWAKE America prayer wall that night—for unsaved loved ones, for boldness in witnessing, for revival to sweep across Houston and beyond. We pray the Lord uses this movement to continue empowering His Church to be bold and unashamed for Christ!

Mokattam, Egypt

Mokattam, Egypt: Christ Our Hope: Mokattam, Egypt

Across the Middle East and North Africa, the spiritual hunger is real. In 2023, thousands flooded into Cairo to hear Dr. Michael Youssef proclaim Jesus Christ—and nearly 8,000 people responded to the invitation to surrender their lives to Him. Now, Dr. Youssef is returning, and he’s not stopping at one city. This fall, Dr. Youssef is making his way across the Middle East with one message: there is hope—one way to eternal life—and His name is Jesus. It began with Leading The Way’s Christ Our Hope Gospel event in Amman, Jordan, in September, where hundreds of people in attendance came forward to surrender their lives to Christ. From there, he travels to Luxor, Egypt, for the second Christ Our Hope outreach. And on November 15th, the journey culminates in Mokattam, a hillside district overlooking Cairo. Born in Egypt, Dr. Youssef knows its people… its culture, and the spiritual burdens they carry. This fall, he returns not as an outsider, but as someone who loves the people and longs to see them encounter the Truth of Christ. The Gospel is advancing in the Middle East. Don’t miss it. Christ Our Hope will be broadcast on our KINGDOM SAT channel and streamed on Sunday, November 22nd, at LTW.org/LIVE.

Luxor, Egypt

Luxor, Egypt: Christ Our Hope: Luxor, Egypt

Where can true hope be found? On November 6th, Dr. Michael A. Youssef will return to Egypt, the country of his birth, to proclaim the answer to that question at Leading The Way’s Christ Our Hope Gospel event in Luxor. This is the second of three Christ Our Hope Gospel events across the Middle East, following the first gathering in Amman, Jordan, where people made decisions for Christ. Upper Egypt, where Luxor sits, is just a few hours from where Dr. Youssef grew up. He knows the people, their culture, their struggles, and their spiritual needs firsthand. That understanding gives him unique credibility and authority as he proclaims the Good News of Christ. We’ve already seen the massive spiritual hunger in Egypt—and we believe the harvest is ready. In 2023, Leading The Way held a Gospel event in Cairo where nearly 8,000 people made decisions for Christ—almost half of those in attendance. As Dr. Youssef returns to Egypt, he returns with a deep love for the people and a burden for them to know the Truth of Christ. In the days leading up to Christ Our Hope in Luxor, Dr. Youssef will join local church leaders to equip and encourage pastors in Egypt, training them in evangelism and discipleship in preparation for the city-wide outreach. Christ Our Hope will be broadcast on our KINGDOM SAT channel and streamed on Sunday, November 8th, at LTW.org/LIVE.
